A note from EPIC Executive Director, Paul T. McKay:
“Mennonite Men is an important partner for EPIC, and we are grateful for your past support. In 2022, JoinTrees enabled FUNDAMARCOS, EPIC’s program partner in Guatemala, to greatly increase what it had been doing in tree planting by providing a grant of $10,000. This resulted in the planting of 14,000 trees. In 2022 you again helped EPIC with a grant of $20,000 for Guatemala, and that year they planted 35,457 trees. Finally, in late 2022, you gave another grant of $20,000 for the planting more trees Guatemala during 2023. With this grant FUNDAMARCOS planted 34,757 trees. These trees not only sequester carbon, but provide local people many benefits: trees for agroforestry (10,040), for reforestation (14,104), hedges or living fences (9,479), grafted fruit trees (375) and trees to maintain the soil on terraces (250).”
